the image is found HOW THE F WE DO IT ! ! ! CRAZYBOOTH PDF MANUAL 11.30.08
it's time to get C-C-C-CRAZY! since we introduced our CRAZYBOOTH, we've gotten hundreds of emails asking about a whole range of details: what it is, what equipment we use, how it works, how we get guests to be fun, etc. while we would have loved to personally answer each and every one of your questions, there is so much information and logistics involved with the CRAZYBOOTH, we would've had a new full time job on our hands!

instead of typing until our fingers turned into bloody nubs, we decided to create this PDF manual to explain in full detail how the CRAZYBOOTH works and how you can make it a very profitable addition to your business. not only is the CRAZYBOOTH highly marketable and highly profitable, it is also an insane amount of fun! for us, the CRAZYBOOTH serves as another creative outlet, providing us with something fun and different to shoot. not to mention, it makes 3+ hour receptions fly by! we thoroughly enjoy the CRAZYBOOTH and all the benefits it brings to our business. this manual contains all the information you need to start your own style of CRAZYBOOTH...so grab it, and get out there and rock it!

some of the topics covered in the 12 page HOW THE F WE DO IT . CRAZYBOOTH pdf manual:

* what the CRAZYBOOTH is and isn't
* full equipment list with links and descriptions of all necessary gear
* how and where to set up
* helpful tips for setting up all the CRAZYBOOTH pieces quickly and effectively
* who shoots what and the logistics of doing a CRAZYBOOTH and covering a reception
* diagrams of our CRAZYBOOTH setup with descriptions, distances, camera settings, etc
* how to get guests to participate and bring the crazy and break out of the 1-2-3 cheese routine
* how to pimp yourself at and after the CRAZYBOOTH
* pricing and how to make the CRAZYBOOTH a hugely profitable addition to your business
* add on products to increase post CRAZYBOOTH revenue
* our "sales pitch" for how we sell the CRAZYBOOTH to prospective clients

FYI...

* we've made this manual as basic as possible. the only prerequisites are that you know how to use your SLR camera and set ISO, shutter speed, and aperture manually.

* the majority of the gear needed for a CRAZYBOOTH you may already own, or can be rented to keep cost low. even if you purchased every item we recommend brand new and correctly priced your photobooth, you'd still be turning a profit after your first or second one! easy peasy!

you can now purchase your copy of the HOW THE F WE DO IT . CRAZYBOOTH manual for the regular price of $149.

after the MAMMOTH MEN conquered white sands national monument in new mexico, i took some last minute portraits of all the men as the sun quietly set behind the white dunes...some of my favorite images to date.

the image is found the cutest boy in the world 11.20.08
it's been strange having nate away this week but i have enjoyed spending lots of time with the kids. today i took a bunch of photos of my little boy. he is so flipping cute i can barely handle it.

he has discovered the piano and all the cool sounds it can make ;)
he is one rollie pollie child.
there was a dog barking and this is his "i don't know what that sound is" face.
but he likes the sound of birds.
and his new trick is climbing into the dishwasher while i'm washing the dishes. normally, i just pick him up and move him somewhere else but today i just had to get a photo first ;)
post bath time. all cute and clean!

the image is found ! ! ! NEW SHOOTSHOP DATE ! ! ! DECEMBER 10th 2008 11.14.08
UPDATE . SOLD OUT!!!

WHAT IS IT?

come join us for an intimate, one-day INTENSIVE workshop focussed on creating unique, creative portraits in any environment. we will demonstrate shooting in a wide variety of everyday situations and give specific techniques how to walk away with gorgeous images every time. from great light to "so-so" light to "what light?!?!” to “MY light!” we will teach our unique, award winning style of portraiture using a real couple in real world locations! we will be teaching our distinct style of casual posing, un-posing, thinking creatively, utilizing natural and artificial light of all shapes and sizes. after the shoot we'll lay ourselves bare and show all the images from the shoot then reveal our mild to wild post-processing techniques in photoshop. we will also be spending part of the day covering branding, finding inspiration, managing client expectations, gear selection...so bring your thinking caps and notepads cuz it’s going to be a brain busting busy day!

WHO IS IT?

us...duh :)

WHEN IS IT?

the shootshop will take place on wednesday december 10th from 9-7-ish followed by a wrap up dinner and no holds barred question and answer time. we will also be hosting a welcome dinner on tuesday december 9th to get the party started off right!

WHERE IS IT?

come roll with us in our hood! the shootshop will take place in and around our radtastic studio in oceanside california.

HOW MANY?

we believe strongly in the importance of providing personal attention to all our workshop attendees so we will be limiting the number of attendees to fifteen spaces. so if you’re interested, get on it asap!

HOW MUCH?

the shootshop fee is $750 per person for all non southern california residents (los angeles-inland empire-orange county-san diego). we will only be offering five spaces for southern california residents with a special "you don't have to spend any money on travel" shootshop fee of $950. we will be providing the welcome dinner the night before, breakfast, lunch, and the wrap up dinner...so the yummies in your tummies are all covered!

HOW TO REGISTER?

space is limited and seats will sell out fast so if you'd like to come, get on it it ASAP! your payment of the full shootshop fee will serve as your registration. the links below will take you to paypal where you can securely pay for your spot via credit card or paypal balance. after your payment and registration is complete we will send you more information with all the pertinent details for travel arrangements, locations, directions, etc.

NON southern california residents ($750), CLICK HERE TO PAY AND REGISTER!

southern california residents ($950), CLICK HERE TO PAY AND REGISTER!

on a side note...since i am sure many of you might be wondering...oceasnide (where our studio is located) is about 40 minutes north of downtown san diego and the san diego international airport. we are also located about 45 minutes south of john wayne airport in orange county or 90 minutes south of LAX. so you've got three good airport options to fly into...but i would aim for san diego or john wayne if possible...unless you really enjoy sitting in LA traffic, which is you haven't, trust us...you won't :) the welcome dinner will be at 6:00 on tuesday and the dinner on wednesday evening will probably wrap up between nine and ten. feel free to email us with any other specific questions. also, please note, as soon as we receive your registration we will be sending out more detailed info about lodging, locations, times, etc.

on another side note...every time we announce a new shootshop we get plenty of comments about coming to XYZ location to do a shootshop...we've heard all of the comments and emails and appreciate all of your enthusiasm! unfortunately at this time in life with our two young children, traveling for a shootshop is going to be out of the question for a while. so for now, if you'd like to get learned good with us, you'll have to come to our neck of the woods :)

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING...(warning, blatant horn tootage ahead)

* The shootshop was better than what I thought it would be. To be honest, making such a large investment for a one-day seminar is scary because I’m never sure if it’ll be worth it. Trying to sum up my experience with adjectives and metaphors won’t do it justice. Beyond all else, Nate and Jaclyn were 100% real. They didn’t hide behind smoke and mirrors, answered every question with extra detail, and kept things fun. They’re an amazing team, but they remain humble via honesty, humor, and self-deprecation…all the things that makes my heart feel all warm-n-fuzzy.

If you have an opportunity to attend this workshop, DO IT! Even if it means having a yard sale, selling an organ, or naming your first child Natelyn to fund the experience, DO IT! You’ll be inspired and rejuvenated a thousand times over.

Nate and Jaclyn, thank you. These two words seem so small to express how I feel, but I hope they’ll suffice until I can think of something better. You are some of the most amazing people in the industry and I’m honored to have spent so much time with you. Thank you for giving of yourselves unconditionally and sincerely." - jasmine star

"* nate+jac, for lack of better words, you guys rocked my world! The shootshop was so beyond my expectations, and it was a source of such great inspiration not just for my business, but also has refreshed my perspective as an artist. thanks for many priceless faces, laughs, moments, lessons, etc. I feel so blessed to have shared in it all! the thing I walked away with the most was the freedom to just be myself and operate the business according to who i am, not who others want me to be - it already feels like a huge weight is lifted off of my shoulders." - ashey parsons

"* ...i can't express enough how much this workshop has and will improve my game. i have a long way to go, but at least now I know which road to take..." - chris vaugn

"* ...BITCHIN'. that's all i got. cause other than that - there just aren't words big enough to describe all that i took out of 15 hours with you two fine folk." - ben harms

"*...nate and jac...you guys totally inspired me and answered my bazillion questions...thanks so much for your openness and approachability! You guys have an awesome relationship and I am in *awe* of your talent. I thought you guys were uber talented before I came to the shootshop and now...well....you are up on a pedestal that I hope to one day climb up!" - sarah goodman

"* Nate and Jaclyn, thank you both so much for allowing me to be part of the shootshop. My head is still spinning (all the way around) with so much information being shared. Seeing the images from the day brings everything full circle. The word that keeps coming to my mind is passion. Your passion for your craft, your family, your ever-increasing circle of friends/fans and for life is the very definition of success. More inspiring yet is your ability to instill that passion in others." - mark

"* Nate and Jaclyn...You guys were so open and honest about everything. Your shootshop was enlightening and demystifying at the same time. As a photographer, I am definitely walking away with a whole new perspective and I am so grateful for that." - jason tran

"* nate, jaclyn, you are two of the most genuine-ish and humble-ish people, thanks for much for the inspiration and all the wonderful tips. I'd do this again in a heartbeat!" - chris waters

"*F reakin cool.
R ealisation that not only are you bloody good at your job but you are really nice people too..
E xplosion of my brain.. I cant wait to get home!
S o inspiring, where do I start...
H onesty really is the best, you do it so well. thank you.

F reakin cool (did i already say that)
U nbelievable gratitude
N ow to get my bum into gear

R emember me.. your First Australian wedding coming up!

i don't think there are words enough in my brain to describe just how totally awesome the diehl family is! we shot their family pictures and wedding back in 2005 and is was so great to see them again last week to shoot a new round of family portraits for them. suzanne, keith, and their son max are three of the coolest, friendliest, most amazing people you could ever hope to meet! we shot down at our lovely oceanside pier by our studio on a day that was super duper overcast which gave such a great feeling to the images. here are a few of my favs...out of a gabillion more favs :)

on a side note, families, we still have a few openings left for family portraits before the holidays...if you want cooler pictures than your friends, email us and we'll get you hooked up!
max is a stud. period.
suzanne, keith, and max are so sweet together...they just melt my heart!
i might be a bit partial...but this image NEEDS to be a gigantor canvas!!!
